About the Item

An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver presentation cup; an addition to our presentation silverware collection. This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver presentation cup has a plain circular bell shaped form to a knopped pedestal onto a circular spreading foot. The lower portion of the body encircled with embossed fluted decoration in a swirl design, accented with alternating terminals. The upper portion of the body is embellished with an undulating band of scrolling leaf ornamentation paralleling the fluted decoration. The foot is encompassed with further embossed fluted decoration reflecting that of the body. If required, this antique cup is suitable for a personal engraved inscription. Once confirmation of the engraving details has been received and confirmed the process will take between 14-21 days. Condition This antique sterling silver presentation cup is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The cup has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the cup are all very clear. Dimensions Diameter of rim 11cm/4.3". The body of this 1870s silver goblet is embellished with bright cut engraved foliate festoons accented with pensile leaf drops; these vertical designs form four cartouches. The cartouche to one side bears a bright cut engraved fruit design; the further three remain vacant. The knopped stem is encircled with a plain moulded border to the centre. The foot is ornamented with further bright cut engraved overlapping arch designs, accented with an applied bead decorated border to the rim.
