A fine pair of circa 1957 sterling silver candlesticks designed by Marion Anderson Noyes for Towle of Newburyport, MS,in an organic modern design with black plastic tips. (These sticks are in the permanent collections of the Dallas Museum and other museums, and are currently on display at The Wolfsonian in Miami. They are also depicted in the book that accompanies the exhibition --See pages 200-201 of 'Modernism in American Silver - 20th Century Design" by Jewel Stern.
Total weight 23 oz. Heights 7 1/4 inches and 8 inches. Width 9 1/2 inches from black plastic tip to opposite end of candle stick.
No monogram. Marked Towle Sterling, 11, Filled Reinforced.
