Pair of Sterling Silver Compotes

About the Item

A graceful pair of sterling silver compotes by International Silver in the elegant “Wedgewood” pattern, first introduced in 1924. These refined serving pieces feature the iconic Wedgewood motif—a delicate, classical garland design—encircling the rim, evoking the neoclassical style that inspired the pattern’s name. Each compote stands on a slender, unweighted pedestal, giving it a light, airy presence while maintaining excellent balance. Unlike traditional flat compote tops, these have a gently concave form, allowing fruit, confections, or other delicacies to rest securely without spilling. A beautiful example of early 20th-century American silver design, blending decorative detail with functional sophistication.
