A Silver Snuff Box Belonging to the Holy Mekubal Harav Yitzchak Kaduri.
The Kabbalist Rabbi Yitzhak Kaduri was born at the end of the 19th Century in Iraq, studied Torah and Kabbalah from Babylonian (Iraq) and Jerusalem sages. He immigrated to Jerusalem in 1922 and initially made a living by binding books and manuscripts, while studying in the Beit El and Porat Yosef Yeshivot. Eventually, the word of his Kabbalistic wisdom spread and many sought his counsel, blessings and amulets [he was one of the few who still knew the wisdom of Kabbalistic amulets].
Of a rectangular shape with slanted and lined scrolling along the sides and back. The front side of the box has a pock-marked designed appearance. The center dedication on the top cover reads in Hebrew "For Rabbi Yitzchak Kaduri Shlit"a, from Yisrael Amram the son of Kamila and Avner the son of Dalia", framed by lined scrolling.
An accompanied picture of the snuff box with an authentication letter from the son of R' Yitzchak Kaduri is written in Hebrew which states " I hereby confirm that this snuff box that is pictured here was used on a consistent basis by R' Yizchak Kaduri Shlit"a, with much blessing, (signed) David Kaduri. Letter is dated at bottom 16th of Iyar, 2008 and stamped with the seal of Yeshivat Nachalat Yitzchak.

The body of the box is embellished with impressive chased floral motifs accented with scrolling stem and foliate ornamentation, all on a matte background.
The decoration to the body incorporates a chased single leaf design to each corner, emanating from the rounded lower portion.
The upper rim of the body and swept sides of the cover are encompassed with a continuous band of engine turned decoration.
The underside of the box features a further panel of engine turned decoration.
This exceptional example of antique silverware is fitted with a hinged hallmarked cover embellished with an engine turned bordered rectangular vacant cartouche to the upper plateau.
The cover is further embellished with an exceptional cast and applied domed, incurved border to the upper portion, matching the ornamentation to that of the body and continuing to an impressive floral thumbpiece to the anterior edge.
This antique sterling silver snuff box opens to reveal the original gilded interior.

Silver Cased Military Interest Presentation Snuff Box 1847

An exceptional and rare antique silver snuffbox reading 'PRESENTED TO St. Mr. P CAMPION, 1st Bn 19th Foot, by His, BROTHER SERJEANTS, As A Mark of Their, Sincere Regard.' in its original shaped fitted case and made by Cronin & Wheeler, Birmingham in 1847. The snuff box, probably unused, is simply stunning the cartouche shaped body engraved with rococo 'C' scrolls, engine turning and floral sprays with a hinged cover and richly gilded interior. The box has clear and crisp silver assay and makers marks to the cover and base and has date marks for 1847.
Provenance: The property of a gentleman.
Sergeant Major Patrick Campion was enlisted with the 19th Foot in 1838 and served in Malta, the Ionian Islands, the West Indies, Canada, the Crimea and India amongst other postings. He received a DCM at the Battle of Alma ‘for his gallant rescue, in company with a couple of his comrades, of a wounded officer of his own company, who was lying in front of the Russian line’s.’ and despite being injured in this act, he recovered and would see action at Inkerman, Redan and the siege of Sevastopol.
