Sterling Silver, Set of 5 Kings Pattern Teaspoons, Hallmarked, Edinburgh 1847

Sterling silver - set of 5 - large kings pattern teaspoons The hallmarks show that they were made in Edinburgh, Scotland, by Millidge & Son. The hallmarks were applied by the Edinburgh Assay Office:- Castle & Thistle - Edinburgh Assay Office marks. Upper case Q - Edinburgh date letter for 1847 Queen`s head - Duty mark showing that duty has been paid to the Crown. EM - Maker`s mark of Edwin Millidge, on behalf of Millidge & Son. A very good set of large teaspoons in the highly sought after Kings Pattern. Typically Scottish, they a single struck - pattern only on one side. Monogrammed M on the stem. I`m afraid I know nothing about this maker - the first time I have ever come across their work. Collectors of hallmarks may be interested in less that five examples - I would be prepared to split the set. All in very good condition - no dents or scratches and virtually no wear. Length:- 147 millimetres / 5.79 inches. Total silver weight:- 101 grams / 3.25 troy ounces. Average weight:- 20.2 grams / 0.65 ounces.
