An exceptional, fine and impressive, large vintage English sterling silver communion chalice and paten set; an addition to our diverse religious silverware collection. This exceptional two piece vintage sterling silver communion set consists of a chalice and paten/diskos. The silver chalice has a circular rounded form to a knopped pedestal and spreading circular foot. The paten has a plain circular form to a plain circular sunken well. The surface of the paten and chalice have a subtle planished finish. The underside of the chalice foot bears the engraved inscription 'To the glory of God and in abiding memory of Austen D. Norton, March 3rd 1967'*. The drinking vessel of the chalice retains the original gilding. This exceptional communion set is a large example for its type. This planished silver chalice and paten set is a profound gift for sacred milestones, suited to ordinations, church anniversaries, clergy retirements or memorial dedications. Meticulously crafted, it endures as a timeless symbol of faith and devotion. Condition This vintage silver communion set is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition. Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the chalice and paten are all very clear.
