Rare Schulz & Fischer San Francisco Medallion Coin Silver Soup Ladle

About the Item

American Medallion coin silver soup ladle, ca 1870. Ovoid and scalloped bowl; interior gilt with engraved stylized ornament. Curved and fluted stem with flowerhead knop and scroll mount; scroll and leaf terminal mounted to rondel with right-facing Classical profile on stippled ground. Presentation dated 1879 engraved on stem verso. Unmarked. Attributable to Schulz & Fischer, a San Francisco maker established in the late 1860s. Weight: 6.4 troy ounces.
