Sterling Silver Sifter Spoon London 1889

About the Item

This very decorative sterling silver sifter spoon was made by Charles Harris in London in 1889.  On top of the barley twist handle is a cast silver figure of a man in a Middle Eastern cloak and turban who is holding a staff. The bowl has been very intricately embossed and pierced with a stylised flower motif. The spoon measures 153 mm (6 inches) from the top of the handle to the bowl. The bowl has a diameter of 52 mm (2 inches) and a depth of 16 mm (5/8ths of an inch). The spoon weighs 28 gms (.9 troy ounces). It is in very good condition.
