About the Item

Silver plated American figural napkin ring of a young boy pushing a heart shaped napkin ring marked "Meriden 161", indicating the earlier version of this ring, circa 1886. The Meriden Britannia Company was located in Meriden Connecticut and was a leading manufacturer of figural napkin rings and other silver plated items of the late 19th century. This particular napkin ring is identified and referenced on page 263; plate 649 in "Figural Napkin Rings" written by Sandra Whitson, published in 1996. The ring is in good condition and is all original, it has not been restored or re-plated. Provenance: Recently acquired in a fine quality San Francisco estate sale Dimensions: 2 1/2" high x 1 3/4" deep x 2 3/4" wide
