Banner 'Tales' Sterling Silver Tea/coffee Set Bubinga
About the Item
PER MICHAEL BANNER: "Tales of Michaelman was conceived and named after Maureen and I attended a performance of the 'Tales of Hoffman' opera. The idea behind the concept was to do a set very grounded, therefore the flat bottoms on all the pieces. I was looking for a very horizontal forward moving piece, hence the sculpted back panels. The tray is sculpted along its edge to 'soften' the impact. We (Maureen and I) decided to not use any enamels, liking the stark, all silver look. It is a very strong piece and very functional. I like to hold up the pot with one finger under the handle to show off its balance. Balance is key to the design. The vesels not only hold and pour liquids, but they do so with the utmost care and grace."
