French Porcelain Barbotine Faience Majolica Jardiniere or Tureen and Platter

About the Item

A lovely, highly detailed hand painted French Barbotine Majolica Faience soup tureen, with handles, feet and nicely sculpted cherry tree decorated cover. The painted decoration on the sides and on the large platter include detailed flowers, including roses. Both pieces are marked underneath, "VP" (maker's mark for Veuve Perrin, Marseilles). Both have the label from Armand Elisson, 9 Rue Pavillon, Marseille. Bought in the South of France. Exquisite! Dish: H 8” x W 13.5” x D 10” Platter: H 1.5” x W 19.25” x D 13.5” #6360
