About the Item
Elegant and exquisite champagne bucket made of handcrafted crystal and locally in the French region of Lorraine. As certified on the label, the material is a “full and true” glass, hand-cut and finished with a layer of 24 carat gold. It has an Art Deco design thanks to its polygonal ornaments, hand-carved. In addition, the translucent effect is combined with the matte finish. The history of glass and crystal craftsmanship in the Lorraine region dates back to very ancient times and testifies to a very rich artisanal past in this region and more particularly in the department of Vosges, Champagne and France.

During the 18th century, the artisanal glass industry developed significantly in Lorraine, where the glass factory of Vannes-le-Châtel was established in 1765 (and still in operation) by the Countess of Mazirot de Reims. In the following decades, the glassworks of Lorraine produced magnificent pieces that ended up in the palaces of the Queen of England, Tsar Nicholas II or the Emperor of Japan.
