19th Century Swedish Chest / box with original paint from Northern Sweden

About the Item

19th Century Swedish Chest / Box from Boden Norrbotten, Northern Sweden. A beautiful box with untouched original painting. On the lid it is painted with leaf loops and initials BJD where D stands for daughter, which means that it is owned by a woman. She probably got it at her wedding from her future husband. The box is in good condition & stable in construction. Working lock and key that is original to the piece. Valuables were stored in these Chests. Made in painted pine.
