FRENCH WROUGHT-IRON DOMED CHEST WINE STORAGE RACK Circa late 19th/early 20th century; for storing 28 bottles Item # 209GJY07K A fantastic and rather unusual wrought-iron wine storage rack styled as a domed chest, it features wide shaped straps welded to curved and squared bar with curled iron elements throughout. The front of the chest retains an early lock and key, opening and dropping down on hanging chains to give access to the 28 bottles of wine that can be stored inside. It retains a wonderful early surface with chaotic oxidization and the effects of rust throughout the overall green and blue-ish patina. Circa the late 19th to early 20th century. MINIATURE GEORGE III MAHOGANY TABLETOP DOCUMENT BOX England, circa 1785 Item # 011BMA19P An austere and rather interesting George III tabletop document box, the purity of structure, early oxidized surface and total lack of embellishment are most magnetic features. The open dovetail structure locks the dense mahogany primary woods of the case together. Two rows of two drawers are situated over a single large drawer, each with original bail pull hardware to match the handles on the sides of the case. The drawer construction is typical of the period with pine secondary woods carefully dovetailed at the joints and the drawer bottoms running perpendicular to the drawer face. A VERY FINE AMERICAN GRAIN-PAINTED ONE-PIECE CORNER CUPBOARD New England, circa 1805 Item # 305PXF05C An incredibly fine one-piece corner cupboard formerly acquired at Sotheby's in 2013 for $ 15,000. The original and beautifully worn surface is incredibly lively with a rich texture in the symmetrical brush strokes with the natural rubbing through the paint from over two-hundred years of gentle handling. It is crafted in one piece from pine primary woods and poplar secondary woods and features a nine-light glazed upper door with beautifully molded astragals that opens with a replaced brass knob to reveal an interior divided with two fixed shelves. The lower portion of the cabinet is missing its knob and opens to reveal the single shelf that evenly divides out the space. And most attractive is the size, which is delightfully diminutive and allows it to be a part of any space without overwhelming the interior. An untouched treasure.
