Painting by Oscar Matthiesen.
Oscar Matthiesen (1861 - 1957) was educated at Kunstakademiet in Denmark from 1878 - 84 and then at the Pierre Puvis de Chavannes in Paris and also studied under P.S. Krøyer (1851 - 1909). He spent a period of time in the US. His painting of a sunset at the Hudson River showcases his impressionistic style.
