About the Item
A vintage hand-knotted "Tulu" rug from Central Anatolia, Turkey. "Tulu" is a Turkish word for high piled, soft and comfortable rugs.
These charming small rugs with simple geometric designs and lustrous wool pile were produced for daily use by villagers in Konya region of Central Anatolia, until 1970s. Today these beautiful rugs work well with modern decor and they are also considered collectible as each one is one of a kind and representing a diminishing form of textile art.
We are able to reproduce this rug or your choice of design in custom sizes and colors if requested. It takes us typically 5 weeks to produce a 9x12 ft hand-knotted custom made rug woven by highly skilled adult female weavers.
