Item: A unique hand carved wooden early 20th Century figure of a ram Description: We are proud to offer a highly characteristic and decorative early 20th Century, hand carved wooden statue of a ram. The solid wood statue stands firmly on a wooden plinth, the figure is covered in aged gesso material and shaped with great detail as shown in the photos provided. A quirky addition to this statue is that the scrotum of the beast is freely hanging and can be swung once moved. This item was uncovered in a London art Gallery’s storage unit earlier this month as part of an auction sale. This item is untouched in form and structurally secure. A highly decorative, aged, unique, quirky and rare example, as we are sure you will agree. Age: 1920 Size inch: H19” x W 18” x D 6” Origin: England Condition: This item is untouched and original in form, in overall good condition for its age. Old repairs are present this doesn’t affect the item in anyway (shown in the photos provided). Sections of the gesso are cracked, missing and aged with discolouration due to its age and use. The front hoof of the state is missing a section, the left ear is missing, and the rear leg also shown old repair to a crack in the leg.
