Brutalist Hanging Wall Sculpture by Bill Heise, Found Objects
By Bill Heise
Located in Buffalo, NY
Brutalist hanging wall sculpture by Bill Heise. Found objects, hand executed from found objects, welded The pieces are crafted from turn-of-the-century farm equipment collected from the fields of Vermont, maritime parts salvaged from around the Bay Area, and railroad components, antique tools, and other vintage metal found throughout America. The delicate lines and whimsical nature of Heise sculptures often defy the rugged origins of each component part. Railroad spikes, plough discs, pitchforks, shovel blades, and a myriad of other parts are transformed into birds in flight, cows out to pasture, tropical fish, and a variety of other wildlife forms. And there's always an interesting story behind each piece, be it the eighty something farmer who helped me retrieve equipment from the "back forty," frozen hands from digging a hay rake...

Circa 1900 Salish Totem
Located in Coeur d'Alene, ID
This old model Salish pole dates to around 1900 and was sold out of the Hudson Bay Fur Trading Co. in Seattle, WA. The pole depicts an inverted killer whale, although the identities of the other figures are unclear. There is a formline human face in profile carved in relief and painted on the front of the base. A rather unusual feature of this pole is the inlaid glass beads in the eyes of the figures and blowhole of the whale. Early model poles sometimes incorporated new, non-traditional materials into their work. A highly unusual and early pole. Northwest Coast cedar totem with original Hudson Bay sticker. Patinated with cabin smoke. 15" PERIOD: Circa 1900 ORIGIN: Northwest Coast SIZE: 15" Family Owned & Operated Cisco’s Gallery deals in the rare, exceptional, and one-of-a-kind pieces that define the history of America and the Old West. Schooling Mackerel by Barnaby Porter, circa 1970's
Located in Nantucket, MA
Schooling Mackerel by Barnaby Porter, circa 1970s, a sculpture made from reclaimed wood on the mid-coast of Maine. Porter used old found wood to cut and hand paint these three mackerel "weathervanes," mounted together as a school - this was part of an original room-sized installation. The sculpture is in excellent, as made "distressed" condition as shown in photographs. Porter's work has been exhibited in the Farnsworth Museum and elsewhere and has been featured in the TV show, "Made in Maine', and in magazines such as Fine Woodworking...

Very Large Rare "Uncle Sam" Tramp Art Buffet
By Hermitage des Artistes
Located in Coeur d'Alene, ID
Uncle Sam Tramp Art buffet. The back is a curtain of stars, with Uncle Sam's stove top hat. The front comes to a corner, with an eagle head on both sides, flanked by stars; 44" W x 28" D x 67" H. Solid and incredibly carved. Tramp Art of this size is not easy to come by! Tramp art is a style of woodworking which emerged in America the latter half of the nineteenth century. Some of tramp art's defining characteristics include chip or notch carving, the reclaimation of cheap or available wood such as that from cigar boxes and shipping crates, the use of simple tools such as penknives, and the layering of materials into geometric shapes through glue or nails.
