Native American Indian Iron Wood Carving Chief Bull Aparoke by Artist Bruce Law
Located in Tustin, CA
"Chief Bull Aparoke" is a legendary work of art from renowned Arizona Native American artist, Bruce Law. Hand-carved from a solid trunk of a rough-hewn Ironwood tree, Chief Bull Aparoke's polished, deeply lined, life size face emerges to evoke the spirit of a stoic Indian Chief who has seen much hardship.

Measures: 16.5" high x 11" wide x 11 deep. Weighs 27 pounds.

Large Antique Americana Gilt and Forest Green Painted Plaster Spread Wing Eagle
Located in Morristown, NJ
19th c., Americana, a large scale gilt and forest green painted cast plaster eagle, depicted spread-wing, with crisply detailed overlapping feathers. With mounting bracket on reverse. This is a very handsome example of an iconic form. The combination of the gilt and forest green paint is striking.
Depictions of eagles can be seen across American art. The national bird of the United States, the eagle has been used as a symbol of American freedom for centuries. This is a fine example in the style of John Haley Bellamy...

Ancient American "Human Effigy" Stone Paint Pallet, Anasazi Culture 900 AD
Located in South Burlington, VT
Early American Pre-Historic Human Effigy Stone Paint Pallet, Anasazi culture 900 AD
All stone carvings from America's Prehistoric southwest are scarce. The majority of known carved stones come from the
Mimbres, Hohokam or Casas cultures. So examples of stone carvings from the Anasazi culture
(circa 900–1300 AD) are rare especially human forms which are the rarest and some consider most desirable.
This pallet is likely unique.
The distinguishing characteristic of our paint pallet from the Anasazi culture is its creation from red sandstone- a material that was not used by
the Mimbres, Hohokam or Casas cultures.
Dimensions: 9.25 inches tall, 4.87 inches wide
Quality: it exhibits no less than seven distinct pigment colors on the surface. The obverse has a distinctive head with three dimensional eyes and nose; there are four horizontal bands of color: red, white, dark red/white and black. The center of the pallet has a distinctive white pigment and the border is executed in both red and black. There are two well-defined legs, one red and the other black, which terminate in distinctive feet. On the reverse we find in the center seven clearly defined concentric painted rings, each a different color.
Provenance: old New England collection
Lifetime guarantee of authenticity: All of our works of art come with our lifetime authenticity guarantee.
Our gallery has been dealing in authentic Native...

Unique Pair of Contemporary Art Painted Fiberglass Boy Sculptures Signed
Located in Dallas, TX
Presenting a unique pair of contemporary art painted fiberglass boy sculptures signed… by the artist … we think “Laqi”.
These sculptures are a pair of the ‘cutest’ pieces of contemporary sculpture that we have seen for a while.
We really wish we could identify and learn more about the artist, but what we do know is that these belonged to a former artist and art and collectibles dealer in New Orleans. She treasured these and they came with her to Dallas. She was very active in the New Orleans art scene in the early 1990s.
The sculptures appear to also have a practical function as planters.
One features a boy’s denim jeans and waistcoat in a standing position and the other a boy’s denim overalls in a seated position.
Both are made of fiberglass which has been painted and textured. Exceptional detail to the outfit. Right down to the buttons and clasps and the sneakers and shoelaces.
Mottled green and black in color.
We cannot find anything quite like these anywhere!!
Specific provenance: These sculptures were acquired by Ms. Naomi Baggett in or circa 1990-1999. Originally from North Carolina, an Air Force Veteran and JAG Advocate, Ms. Baggett after her service moved to New Orleans and worked as a paralegal until setting up and operating an Art & Curiosities Store in the famous New Orleans Hotel Montleone between 1990 and 1995. Her store was called ‘Baggetelle’. It was featured in various industry magazines and hotel documentation. The store specialized in selling miniature French Quarter Houses which were used as jewelry boxes. Ms. Baggett was an artist herself and handmade and hand painted these houses along with a partner. She received orders for these miniature houses...

b. 1966, d. 2023
Bio
Born in Indiana, Jim Rose lived in Europe until he returned to the United States to attend college. After one year at Bard College, Jim transferred to the School of the Art Institute in Chicago (SAIC) where he graduated in 1988 with a BFA. His skillful interpretation of the Shaker design is a result of intense research and field study of Shaker furniture, architecture, culture and history. After over two decades of dedicated work, he has mastered the minimalism of the Shaker technique and created his own unique visual vernacular. The quilts of Gee's Bend have become a monumental influence taking this artist's work to new levels of unique interpretation and artistry. His selection of aged steel results in a patina directly related to that of aged wood while his colored strips beautifully mimic worn cloth. Each piece of furniture is masterfully made and intended for daily use. Jim Rose’s steel furniture is featured every year at SOFA Chicago for the past 25 years.

By Jim Rose
Located in Chicago, IL
This is a welded steel sculpture made by furniture creator Jim Rose. It is sustainable design created from salvaged and recycled steel panels left over from his larger projects. These sculptures reference traditional American Folk Art barn house models or bird houses. This sculpture works alone on a shelf or table or can be grouped with other house sculptures by the artist. Each house sculpture is unique in design and color.
