Antique Tribal Kachin Woman’s Jacket with Shells, Myanmar (Burma) A small, intricately woven woman’s jacket from the Kachin (Maru) tribal group located in the far northeast of Myanmar (Burma). The upper portion and arms of the jacket are tightly woven indigo-dyed cotton with light blue stripes, and the lower portion of the jacket a densely woven rust-red wool with traditional diamond, hook, and geometric patterns in a supplementary weft weave.
