Exceptional French Art Deco Alabaster Pendant with Striking Veining and Sculpted Form
This breathtaking and finely handcrafted Art Deco alabaster pendant is a rare find, both in terms of aesthetic purity and condition. Originating from France and dating to the 1920s-1930s, this sculptural ceiling light is carved from a single, flawlessly selected piece of alabaster. Its softly scalloped edges and gently flared silhouette are as elegant as they are timeless.
The stone itself is of superb quality: a luminous white body richly veined with expressive black and smoky grey marbling, punctuated by intricate translucent striations and swirling mineral formations. When lit, the pendant glows with an ethereal warmth, revealing the depth and texture of the natural stone in all its layered complexity. The result is a soft, atmospheric light with undeniable decorative impact.
Suspended from a replacement brass canopy and delicately patinated triple-link chains, this fixture has been fully rewired to meet modern safety standards and is ready for immediate use in the USA. It was used with great care for the past two decades as a bedroom pendant, but it would be equally at home gracing an entryway, powder room, or intimate dining space.
