About the Item
This ceramic pendant light was designed by the Danish ceramicist Jette Hellerøe for AXELLA in Denmark in the 1970s.
The lamp is in excellent condition and signed on the inside by the Artist with the AXELLA stamp below the signature.
Designed for two E27 light bulbs, the light shines through five orange glass inserts on ceramic discs which are placed around the shade in alternating order to five lotus seed pods.
The shade is glazed in rich beige and browns and the lamp comes with a matching ceramic canopy and a suspending chain.
While AXELLA, named after their founder Aksel Larsen, closed their doors in 1987 this pendant lamp stands the the test of time and will make a great Mid-Century Modern statement piece.
