About the Item

A very fine and palatial French 19th-20th century Louis XV style gilt bronze (Ormolu) and fitted-Baccarat crystal (cut-glass) twenty-six-light figural chandelier with five large cherubs, each holding a frosted glass torch and surmounted with two arm-lights, each with their original frosted glass shades, the five extending supports in the form of drapes with tassels and the bottom plafonnier with fitted cut-glass edged panels in the form of an upside-down dome. Stamped: Baccarat, France and other stamps with letters and numbers on gilt-bronze frame. Circa Paris, 1900. Measures: Height 60 1/2 inches (153.7 cm) Width 48 inches (121.9 cm).
