About the Item

A beautiful and most impressive French 19th century Empire st. Alabaster and Ormolu chandelier. This four arm eight light chandelier is centered by a striking foliate acorn shaped Ormolu finial below a lovely foliate back plate set on the exceptional Alabaster bowl. The bowl houses four lights offering a gentle glow through the Alabaster. Around the recessed edge are four Ormolu arms with fine fluted designs, beautifully detailed pierced palmettes, and superb floral candle cups retaining their original frosted glass eternal flame covers. Four linked Ormolu chains lead up toward the remarkable top crown. The top crown is decorated with fine foliate designs and additional pierced palmettes.
