About the Item

This masterpiece crystal chandelier came from a Tudor mansion in River Forest, Illinois. Sadly this spectacular home was left in disrepair for years following an incomplete renovation and the new owners decided the home was beyond saving. This chandelier is so large the only way to describe it is multi-leveled. From the base which features a pressed glass finial larger than we have ever seen, to the massive cast brass canopy adorned with 6 sprawling acanthus leaves. A scalloped bobeche caps the base of the two-tiered crystal baskets and the crown is adorned with pressed glass acanthus leaves. The bulk of this light is in the long strands of crystals that gradually decrease in size up the length, again crowned by acanthus leaves with a final basket of crystals matching the bottom. A glass break holds up the final bobeche before a chain, length of your choosing, connects it to the canopy. We are not exactly sure of the age circa 1940s. The home it was salvaged from was built in the 1920s. We feel this light might be newer possibly from the 1940s. Condition: Good Finish: Original Country of origin: USA Illumination: 9 standard Edison sockets Dimensions: 90” tall x 25” diameter body 4” projection x 16” diameter canopy We find that early vintage lighting was designed as objects of art and we treat each fixture with careful attention to preserve original beauty. Our fixtures are cleaned, rewired (when necessary) and are ready to hang. Please allow approximately ten to fifteen business days for this process on this light do to it's complexity.

Rewired. Wear consistent with age and use. Truly a beautiful chandelier, there are a few of the upper acanthus leaves that are missing. We spread them out so it appears more uniform. Replacements are available but they might not match please let us know if you have any questions.
