Italian 18th Century Baroque St. Giltwood Lantern
About the Item
A lovely Italian 18th century Baroque st. giltwood lantern. The lantern is centered by a charming bottom foliate finial below an elegantly curved support and wrap around reeded band. Three scrolled supports lead upwards adorned with richly carved acanthus leaves, beautiful swaging floral garlands and hanging tassels. Above an additional reeded wrap around band are striking pierced palmettes and scrolled elements centering the circular patinated central support and mottled giltwood top crown.
