An Italian 18th century Neo-Classical st. giltwood and crystal chandelier

About the Item

A stunning large scale Italian 18th century Neo-Classical st. giltwood and crystal chandelier. The fifty two arm two tiered chandelier is centered by a charming bottom crystal floral finial and circular mottled giltwood reserve from where an exceptional array of swaging beaded crystal garlands lead upwards to the central mottled wrap around giltwood tier. The arms alternate between elegantly scrolled Rinceau shapes adorned with acanthus leaves and with fine rosettes and mottled candlestick like designs with delicate etched patterns. Additional most decorative swaging beaded crystal garlands lead upwards to an additional tier decorated in the same manner and the striking circular mottled foliate top crown with remarkable pierced palmettes.
