Italian Early 19th Century Venetian St. Patinated and Giltwood Lantern

About the Item

An outstanding Italian early 19th century Venetian st. patinated and giltwood lantern. The lantern is centered by a charming bottom foliate final below lovely richly carved acanthus leaves and foliate designs. The pentagonal shaped body retains its original frosted glass panes framed within lovely mottled giltwood bands and separated by beautiful carved giltwood foliate garlands with a single door at the front. Above are most decorative urn shaped finals and scrolled acanthus leaf reserves below the elegant slanted top and pierced foliate ball canopy.
