About Maison Leune
Founded around 1900, Société Anonyme des Etablissements Leune was located at 28bis rue du Cardinal Lemoine, Paris. Initially known for romantic, hand-enameled landscape scenes, the firm transitioned into more modern, geometric Art Deco aesthetics in the 1920s.
During this golden era, Paul Daum (of the famous Daum Frères glass family) served as director, and the firm collaborated closely with Auguste-Claude Heiligenstein, who designed many of Leune’s most iconic works between 1923 and 1926. Daum supplied the undecorated glass, which Leune’s artists richly enameled by hand—resulting in pieces of refined elegance and technical mastery.
Leune also produced a line of molded-pressed glass vases under the "Etaleune" signature, visually echoing designs by Muller Frères, further affirming their place within the elite Art Deco glassmaking tradition.
This chandelier reflects the pinnacle of Leune's design language: restrained yet luxurious, with artisanal detailing and robust craftsmanship.

Léon Auguste Hugue (Paris, 1878 – Clichy-la-Garenne, 1970) began his career as a bronze fitter. In 1907, he established his own lighting bronze manufacturing business at 14 rue Pierre Levée. In 1913, he created a new limited partnership, "L. Hugue, fabrique de bronzes et d’appareils d’éclairage," at number 10 on the same street. At the 1927 French Exhibition in Madrid, he received the Gold Medal diploma alongside Francis Hubens. Strangely, in 1932, Léon Hugue...
