About the Item
Ceiling lamp model 50591, designed by Maria Lindeman and manufactured by Idman Oy in Finland in The 1950s. A beautiful and distinct design, that stands out from the usual Idman production. Also in great original condition with a rattan like paper shade sitting on a glass difuser. I lovely small lamp that will add a lot to your interior.
Maria Lindeman took part in a competition of lighting fixtures, announced by the Idman company. This competition resulted in a full-time job as Idman's artistic designer. Lindeman's lighting designs varied to include both modern and classical forms. During the 1950s and 1960s Lindeman became one of the voices in constructing Finnish modernism, a participating member in the formulation of the Golden Age of Finnish design.
