About the Item
Imposing pendant lamp from the Italian manufacturer Oluce according to a draft from Vico Magistretti from the 1970s. Here is an early version of aluminum and completely in white.
A timeless design that convinces by the reduction in simple geometry. The lamp body shows the shape of a hemisphere. Even the cathedral is flattened and the suspension and installation shifted inwards so as not to disturb the purity of the outer form. The Sonora has been produced in different sizes and materials over the decades. This is an early version with a diameter of 50 cm and with an aluminum umbrella. The floating, white hemisphere forms a striking object in the room over its large volume. It seems particularly light over the hollow inner and the finely carried out wall thickness. The original canopy is there. This piece has an attribution mark, Up to 250V (Europe/UK Standard). The wiring of this item may be original and might need replacement, if not specified otherwise.
