About the Item
Rare Mid Century pendant lamp with slats in a special color. This draft is often attributed to Hans-Agne Jakobsson and the manufacturer Hans -agne Jakobsson, Markaryd. However, there are no documents such as manufacturer label or sources of literature.
The coloring is striking in a strong blue tone. The onion -shaped lamp body is dissolved in slats. They steer the light from the screen and thus highlight the lamellular structure of the lamp. You have direct light down and indirect light. In the lower area of the light there is an protruding ring, which is intended to prevent a direct glare through the lamp. In contrast to the classic Haj Dome, the overlap and shape of the slats with this lamp has a little more angular and the openings between the slats are larger. In addition, a Konkaver Blendring ends the lamp down. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history.

Hans-Agne Jakobsson
Hans-Agne Jakobsson was a Swedish interior and furniture designer, who ran his own company from 1951. Jakobsson was especially famous for his lighting designs, which often had a softly glowing light and organic shape. His designs were inspired by great, modern Scandinavian designers such as the Finnish icon Alvar Aalto and Danish lighting master Poul Henningsen.

Poul Henningsen Ph5 Mini Pendant in Monochrome Blue for Louis Poulsen
By Louis Poulsen, Poul Henningsen
Located in Tilburg, NL
Poul Henningsen PH5 Mini pendant for Louis Poulsen. Designed 1958, Mini in 2017. New, current production.
Poul Henningsen developed the PH 5 in 1958 in response to constant changes made to the shape and Size of incandescent bulbs by bulb manufacturers, naming it after the Size of the pendant’s main shade, which is 50 cm in diameter. When the lamp was introduced, he wrote, typically daringly, about how he had lost faith that the manufacturers of incandescent light bulbs would ever learn to consider common sense or have the consumer’s best interest at heart: “I have accepted fate, and with Louis Poulsen´s permission I have designed a PH fixture, which can be used with any kind of light source, Christmas lights and 100 W metal filament bulbs. Although a fluorescent tube would be too much to ask in the existing form!” At the time, now one knew that the PH 5 would become synonymous with the PH light...
