Modernist Hand Blown Murano 24 Kt Gold Translucent Glass & Black Enamel Sputnik
About the Item
This graphic and sophisticated sputnik chandelier was handblown in Murano, Italy- the island off the coast of Venice renowned for centuries for its superlative glass production. It features an abundance of translucent cylindrical Murano glass rods extending outwards from a spherical black enamel body. Each of the rods is imbued with an abundance of 24-karat gold yellow flecks, lending the chandelier a subtle and compelling radiance. The chandelier attaches to the ceiling via a brushed brass rod and canopy, which relates nicely to the palate of the rods. With its clean modernist lines and sculptural sensibility, this chandelier is as versatile as it is aesthetically compelling, blending perfectly with any style of interior from classic Mid-Century Modern to contemporary. It has been newly rewired to American standards and is in excellent condition. The height can be adjusted to suit. The chandelier accommodates 12 Edison based bulbs providing up to 1200 watts of light.
