About the Item

We found this railroad Pullman Car Lamp listed in an 1911 Adlake catalog. It's an Acme Burner Center Lamp No. 218. This was distributed by Adams and Westlake. Im guessing it dates to the 1800s. Few of these luxury class Victorian RR lamps still exist. Any remaining examples have found their way into museums or private collections some time ago. This was the type and quality of center lighting used in private luxury Pullman cars of that era. They were also part of the elaborate personal train cars built for The Rockefeller's and Vanderbilt's. This beautiful bronze bow arm ceiling mount lamp is as scarce as they come. This is the type of lamp that is one of my favorites. It was carefully wired to take a standard bulb. This is a nice piece of railroad history.
