About the Item

A beautiful example of Nordic Functionalist design, this flush-mount ceiling light from the 1930s reflects the Scandinavian vision of combining form, function, and accessibility. Produced during a transformative period in Northern European design history, this piece was created to bring well-made, beautifully designed objects into the homes of the newly built urban apartments and homes of the era. The lamp features a rounded opaline glass shade with playful, hand-painted geometric motifs in vibrant green and warm amber tones. The spherical shape and minimalist patterning nod to the early roots of modernism, while the soft contours and organic detailing reflect the Scandinavian commitment to harmony and craftsmanship. The lamp is fully working and in good vintage condition. It is UL-ready, pre-wired for the US market, and compatible with standard US voltage and the E26 bulb size. You can connect it directly to the electrical outlet without any additional rewiring.
