Sumptuous chandelier in Murano Ca'rezzonico with 20 lights. Produced in good condition. Please view the attached images carefully. and first traces of production of Murano glass chandeliers by Venetian glassmakers date back to around 1700.
Since the beginning of the thirteenth century, Venetian glass has been widely appreciated as the most beautiful and pure glass in existence and since then glassmakers have always created beautiful works of art using their unique glass.
At the end of 1700 they finally introduced new products such as mirrors and glass chandeliers. In history this type of glass chandeliers became popular after the era of iron, wood and brass chandeliers and had such a success that they immediately brought the chandeliers into a new dimension.
The production of Murano glass in the 18th century found new energy to counteract emerging manufacturers who began to spread on the market such as Bohemian crystal.
Bohemians and Venetian glassmakers were both masters in the art of making chandeliers. The Bohemian style was very successful throughout Europe and was also popular in parts of Europe. It was also popular in parts of Italy.
Its greatest attraction was the possibility of achieving a spectacular refraction of light thanks to the facets and chamfers of crystal prisms.
In reaction to these new tastes, Murano glassworks have created new types of artistic light sources.
