Tuscan 19th Century Charles X Period Patinated & Giltwood Chandelier

About the Item

A very unique and most decorative Italian early 19th century Charles X Period Tole, patinated and Giltwood chandelier, from Tuscany. This one of a kind eight arm eight light chandelier is centered by a a topie shaped bottom Giltwood finial. Above the bottom finial is the octagonal lower tier decorated in patinated and Giltwood with an array of additional topie shaped pendants hanging along the lower edge. Along the top edge are scrolling foliate designs located between each of the eight arms. Each 'S' scrolled Giltwood arm is decorated with acanthus leaves and is finished with topie shaped candle cups with reeded designs patinated blue tole bobeches. Leading up from the lower tier are four twisted patinated pressed metal bands that pass the central tier and attach to the top crown. The central tier is raised from the lower tier by a Giltwood pedestal and a patinated platform above. The platform has hanging garment decorations with diamond Giltwood pendants below and a floral decorated bouquet presented in a pierced basket. The dome shaped Giltwood top crown is decorated by scrolling foliate ornaments around the edges and additional patinated wood garments hanging below. *Shades shown for display purposes, sold separately.
