Pair of French 19th Century Louis XVI Style Belle Époque Period Statues
About the Item
A striking and extremely high-quality true pair of French 19th century Louis XVI st. Belle Époque Period white Carrara marble, ormolu and Baccarat crystal statues. Each statue is raised by ormolu ball feet below the square white Carrara marble bases. Each base displays a most decorative Les Oves design and foliate Coeur de Rai pattern, wrap-around bands, and wonderful central maiden faces. The statues above stand on a stunning circular fluted white Carrara marble column, with ormolu plinths and capitals, with a fine array of most decorative and intricately chased patterns of leaves and grape clusters. Each finely detailed and wonderfully executed maiden is draped in a superb flowing garment, with her hair in an updo. Each holds up an outstanding Baccarat crystal lantern above their head. All original gilt throughout.
