About the Item

An original Art Deco theater spotlight with an aerodynamic ventilated body supported by a fixed 360 degree rotation to the base. The chrome lamp is unusual due to the small size of the ribbed ovoid body. To the reverse the body has a focusing dial which will dim the light beam of the thick convex straw coloured lens. The lamp would be ideal for back lighting due to its muted lens and low wattage. The oak tripod retains the original brass fixings and couplings. It is increasingly difficult to find completely original examples of this style of lamp with a market awash with substandard reproductions and forgeries. Photographs have been included to show the lamp illuminated and non electrified. Please note that this lamp is from the English Art Deco period and is not a common modern reproduction. The lamp has been rewired and PAT tested. English, circa 1930.
