Contemporary Not Wasted Floral Floor lamp by Cedric Breisacher
About the Item
Intuitive Archaisme is a collection of furniture whose design and manufacturing process is based on the primitive instinct of assembling shapes to create a structure. The wood is worked with a gouge, revealing its structure as the tool passes over it. The object takes shape as a result of repeated, methodical hammering and reveals its singular identity. The tool becomes a mediator of individuation between the material, which reveals its past history through its thread-like structure, and myself, who lets the hammer blows on the tool extract my emotions and soothe my body and mind. The traces of gouge carving recall the flint knapping of a still primitive time, like a kind of necessary call from the earth, for a return to simple things. The raw surface is marked by pastel colours anchored in a collective identification to allow a softer interaction and thus make a relationship with the earth more accessible.
