Erwin Gruen Hand-Forged Wrought Iron Gilded Torchere Floor Lamp. In the manner of French 40's wrought iron design such as Gilbert Poillerat and Raymond Subes, Edgar Brandt, Tommi Parzinger
Erwin Gruen, born in Berlin, Germany in 1918, renowned iron worker, Erwin Gruen immigrated to Chicago in 1951. After apprenticing at A&E Forge, he purchased property at 226 West Superior, which became his workshop and art gallery where he helped pioneer the ''River North'' gallery district. His superbly crafted hand-forged, wrought iron furniture was sought after by Chicago's finest designers.
