Mid-Century Italian Space Age Serpente Floor Lamp by Elio Martinelli for Martinelli Luce, 1970s
The well-known Serpente floor lamp by Martinelli Luce based on a design by Elio Martinelli from the 1960s. Here in a very rare version in orange.
A heavy floor lamp that looks extremely elegant and dynamic thanks to the curved shape of the lamp arm. The special feature is the swivel lampshade, which can be rotated on its axis. The heavy base effortlessly holds the cantilevered arm. This allows the luminaire to be moved into different positions with different spatial and lighting effects. The underside of the base is rubberized to protect the floor. The lamp is in very good condition with signs of use and patina. The shade is new. This piece has an attribution mark, European Plug (up to 250V). The wiring of this item may be original and might need replacement, if not specified otherwise.
