Mid-Century Swiss Brass Minimalist Floor Lamp by Dieter Schulz, 1950s

About the Item

Mid-century floor lamp from the Swiss manufacturer Wohnbedarf AG based on a design by Dieter Schulz from the late 1950s. Here in a particularly rare version in brass. An underrated design classic. Due to its low height, this floor lamp is a functional and understated design. The perfect reading light next to the armchair or sofa. The lamp head has an elegantly curved spotlight shape. It is connected to the shaft via a joint and can be tilted. The position is fixed using a large screw with a lens-shaped head. The slim shaft ends in a heavy foot at the bottom. This is designed as a simple hemisphere. The light switch is located on the back of the light head. The lamp is in very good condition with signs of wear on the shade. The brass surface was polished to a high shine by an artisan and the electrical system was completely renewed. Have official proof of authenticity such as vintage catalogs, designer records, or other literature sources for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution, European Plug (up to 250V).The wiring of this item may be original and might need replacement, if not specified otherwise.
