About the Item
Memphis and Maya come together to manifest the "Tex" Floor Lamp into existence. Made by Neophile and dated 1988. Eric Bergman and Gordon Naylor, Industrial Designers with backgrounds in product and set design, formed Neophile in 1984. They design, manufacture and displayed their products in their New York City studio. All of their work was handmade and hand-painted using mostly wood and glass. Made and marked "Neophile Limited Edition Furniture". After 10 years in this business, we've never seen anything by Neophile or heard of the brand until now. Nevertheless, this lamp is absolutely incredible and made with the utmost care. This charming floor lamp is designed in the whimsical “Memphis” style and truly encapsulates the spirit the movement. This beautifully painted Memphis TOTEM looks brand new although it was made and dated over three decades ago. The colors are deep and rich and there are virtually no signs of fading. Finished 360 degrees and actually made to be double sided. Diffused by a molded plastic shade.
