Swiss Space Age Floor Lamp from Temde, 1960s

About the Item

Very rare Space Age Globe floor lamp by Temde. Imposing design of acrylic and metal according to a very simple system. The body is similar to the 756 pendant lamp by Temde. The spherical lamp head is loosely based on the three-legged foot and can move freely. Thus, the light direction and effect can quite be set manually. The transparent lamp body revealed its interior, the trichterfömigen, curved reflector, and the cylindrical socket cover. The heavy foot is an inverted tripod. The chromed steel tubes are bent at a 90 degree angle down and run into a central plate foot. The foot is finished with black lacquer. The upper ends of the tubes are sealed with black plastic caps on which the light head is located. Have official proof of authenticity such as vintage catalogs, designer records, or other literature sources for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution, European Plug (up to 250V).The wiring of this item may be original and might need replacement, if not specified otherwise. Absolutely stunning and very rare biomorphic floor lamp by Temde Leuchten, Switzerland / Germany 1960s. The lamp base is in excellent vintage condition and the lamp is in great working order as can be seen in the pics. The lamp is fitted for two general E27 lightbulbs that can be switched on and off individually or both at the same time by the pull switch cord. The lamp will come with its original lampshade bracket so easily to reupholster again but please be aware that the fabric shown in the pics was too far gone so this will not come with the lamp. Personally we believe the lamp could also benefit form a slightly sleeker and possibly shorter lamp shade to accentuate the wonderful curvy lamp...
