About the Item

Triennale floor lamp Model 12128 designed by Angelo Lelli for his firm Arredoluce in 1947 and first exhibited at the Triennale Exposition in Milan in 1951. The “Triennale” floor lamp remains one of the most celebrated icons of Italian modern lighting. This design perfectly captures Lelli’s visionary synthesis of engineering precision and sculptural form. This lamp features a tripod chrome-plated base with three adjustable arms each supporting an adjustable conical shade in black lacquered aluminum, each independently pivoting and rotating to provide versatile, directional light. The crisp geometry of the structure contrasts beautifully with the soft matte finish of the shades, expressing Lelli’s mastery of proportion, balance, and light modulation. A hallmark of postwar Italian design, the Triennale embodies the optimism and modernity of its era — elegant, functional, and timelessly architectural. Angelo Lelli’s designs for Arredoluce helped redefine domestic lighting, moving it from utilitarian necessity to a medium of expressive design. There are white metal disc insets encircling each socket stamped MADE IN ITALY ARREDOLUCE MONZA. This is a very good example in original condition with original enamel shades, handles, floor switch and sockets from the 1950s. The lamp is in very good condition.
