About the Item
Adjustable floor lamp designed by Viljo Hirvonen.
Model H801
The arm can be adjusted up and down on the stem and orientated in all directions.
Off white lacquered aluminum shade, brass, plated brass and hand stitched leather.
Made in Finland by Valaistustyö in the 1960s.
Measure: Height 140 - 170 cm.
Full original condition with original lacquer, original gold varnish on the brass. Light wear due to age and use.
Outstanding patina.
Original electrical system. To be safe, the lamp should be checked locally by a specialist to fully comply with local requirements and regulations.
About Viljo Hirvonen: Talented ironworker, he founded Valaistustyo in Helsinki in 1952. He manufactured Alvar Aalto's lamp from 1953 to 1975 and worked very closely with the Aalto's throughout the years. He also manufactured brass and copper utilitarian objects for Artek.
