About the Item

Mid-Century Modern round flush mount, circa ~1965, attributed to Kaiser Leuchten showcases a thick, handmade glass shade. The shade, characterized by a clear and frosted textural surface, undulates and curves with consistent smoothness, juxtaposed against the uneven compositional glass creating a striking visual contrast. Affixed to an off-white painted metal ceiling plate, the glass is securely held in place by three metal screw mounts. The drum shape of the fixture exhibits a variegated appearance, reminiscent of a wavy ocean, crackled glass, or ice, contributing to its unique and captivating design. The decorative patterns lend a dewy, ethereal quality to the glass. Through the process of hand-blowing, the pendant light transforms into a beautiful, sculptural, and almost magical form, perfectly capturing the enchanting effect. This minimally and elegantly designed fixture not only provides beautiful illumination but also adds a striking touch to any space whether it be Contemporary, Modernist, Art Deco, Hollywood Regency, Italian design, Minimalism, Post Modern design, Minimalist, French Modern..... The actual diameter of the glass is 13 1/2" not including the screw/ pin mount protrusions.

Rewired: Rewired for US specs with four candelabra based sockets that can house LED bulbs. Wear consistent with age and use. Natural protrusions, tiny bubbles, mold marks, small imperfections commensurate with the nature of the hand blown glass and age and use. The off-white inset rim /mount, which is not visible, has a little age patina.
