About the Item
The customer comes in an is looking for a lamp above a round table, which he can turn away and can light a part of the table. There is no such a lamp in the existing collection.
Hagoort starts thinking and comes to this design, which later turns out to be a solution to not only this customer, but to many others.
Hagoort said: Lighting is sometimes a difficult process. How simple the shape may seem, the technical lighting requirements, design, material, application and practical use in connection with the price must be brought into harmony by the designer.
The Dutch light designer Willem Hagoort started his company Hagoort lampen BV in 1931. He started making wooden floor lamps for the 'Holland America line'. Hagoort designed hundreds of lamps for his company.
Willem Hagoort passed away in may 1973.
