If you are looking for a unique 'architectural lantern' for your porch or hallway and you like the look and feel of this antique light fixture then this work of beauty could be yours to own and enjoy soon. This rare fixture from the 1920s is entirely handcrafted and the hexagonal design combined with the church window-like bars in front of the cathedral glass panels truly is a joy to look at. Mind you, here in Europe these 'metal bars' were often in front of the lower church windows, to keep out potential burglars. With antique light fixtures as one of our specialities, we know how rare hand-crafted lanterns from this era are and to have found one of this age, size, beauty and quality more than made our day. Also, because this all hand-crafted specimen is completely original and in very good condition. The uniquely designed roof and the large, circular hand-forged canopy are just two of the unique features of this Art Deco era antique. The stunning bottom lid with its diamond shaped glass panels is another one and the easy hinging 'mechanism' via which you can change bulbs too is both practical and attractive, confirming the quality and unicity of this antique pendant. The natural wear has only made this piece more beautiful and its authentic, medieval look and feel will never fail to impress either. It may have originally hung in the porch of a home or maybe above the main entrance of a medieval style or Arts and Crafts mansion, we are not sure. What we are certain of is that we will never be able to find another one and most certainly not in this condition. The level of the workmanship truly is of a bygone era. The kind that you don't find anymore in this day and age and that is why we sometimes refer to our clients as the custodians of the pieces that we sell.
